Westrafo participates in oil plant enlargement project

Through one of its most valued customers, Westrafo is taking part in the enlargement of the oil production plant of Peshkabir in Kurdistan:

Norwegian oil and gas firm DNO, the final customer,  has increased production from the already existing Peshkabir field in the Tawke licence in Kurdistan, Iraq, by two-thirds.

The production now stands at 25,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd) and the increase comes after completion of the Peshkabir-4 well testing programme.

Westrafo contributed to the majestic project with 2 Units 3.75 MVA 11/0.425 kV, 3 units 1.5 MVA 11/0.425 kVA and 2 auxiliary transformers with power 320 kVA.

With the potential to rival the reserves and production of Saudi Arabia, Iraq presents the greatest opportunity available today to the world’s oil and gas industry.

DNO entered Kurdistan in 2004 as one of the first international oil companies in the region and has a leading position in reserves and production.
